Suzuki Mehran Overview

The Suzuki Mehran is a 5-door hatchback manufactured by Pak Suzuki Motors in Pakistan. Introduced in 1989 as a successor to the classic Suzuki FX, it quickly became popular. Known for its affordability, durability, and high resale value, the Mehran is a favorite among consumers. Many Pakistanis have owned a Mehran as their first car, especially those transitioning from two-wheelers.

In 2012, the Suzuki Mehran Euro-II model was introduced, featuring an electronic fuel injection system instead of the previous carburetor. Despite lacking modern safety features, the “Boss” remains a top seller due to its high resale value. Even older models, like the 1989 version, can be resold at reasonable prices in the Pakistani market.

Locally nicknamed “The Boss” for its durability and affordability, the Mehran is easy to purchase and resell in Pakistan. Its robust design allows it to handle various terrains without significant damage to its exterior or interior. Although not known for a high-quality build, it withstands many bumps and blows.

Low Maintenance Costs

Suzuki Mehran Exterior

The latest Suzuki Mehran features a box-like exterior design. The front end includes trapezium-shaped headlights, a grille with rectangular openings, and standard black bumpers. The rear has angular square taillights, a standard hatchback, and a black bumper. Higher-end Mehran VXR versions have color-matched bumpers, maintaining a minimalistic style typical of 1980s car designs.

Suzuki Mehran Interior

The interior of the Suzuki Mehran uses gray plastic trim. It is minimalistic, with manual controls for windows and seat adjustments. Basic features such as central locking, steering adjustment, and rear seat belts are absent. The front and rear vinyl-wrapped seats are standard, with the higher-end VXR offering air conditioning and fabric seats. Interior space is limited, lacking comfort and refinement.
